The whole piece
One clear, well-lit photo on a plain background, shot straight on. Daylight near a window works best.
Stamps and hallmarks
A close-up of any marks — inside a ring band, on a clasp, or on the back of a pendant. Look for 10K, 14K, 18K, 925 or PT.
Designer signatures
If the piece is signed, a photo of the maker’s mark. Signed pieces are often worth considerably more.
Diamonds and gemstones
A close-up of the stone, plus any grading report, certificate or appraisal you already have.
Watches
The dial and the caseback, plus the box and papers if you still have them.
Coins and bullion
Both sides, and the holder or slab label if the coin is graded.
